Meet the team

CEO + Founder

Catherine Peñuela-Parker brings over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, supporting individuals, families, and youth through life’s most difficult moments. Her journey in mental health began working with at-risk probation youth, shaping her passion for helping underserved communities find healing and stability.

Throughout her career, Catherine has collaborated with agencies like the Department of Mental Health, DCFS, and LA County Probation. She has extensive training in childhood development, generational trauma, and parent-child dynamics, and is especially skilled in helping clients uncover how past experiences may be influencing current relationships and emotional patterns.

Catherine is trained in EMDR and Brainspotting—powerful, body-based therapies that help process trauma and ease symptoms of anxiety and depression. Her warm, grounded approach centers on building a trusting and collaborative relationship, where clients feel genuinely seen and supported.

She strives to create a welcoming, culturally sensitive space for healing and growth. If you're ready to explore your next steps, Catherine offers a free 15-minute consultation to see if working together feels like a good fit.

Wendy Mejia, ACSW

Wendy Mejia is a first-generation Latina therapist dedicated to making mental health care more accessible and relatable—especially for those from underserved or marginalized communities. With years of experience across nonprofits, community mental health, and private practice, Wendy brings warmth, cultural humility, and compassion to every session.

Her approach is holistic and trauma-informed, with a deep understanding of how stressors like grief, parenting struggles, chronic illness, domestic violence, housing instability, and major life transitions can impact emotional well-being. She works with individuals and families, from young children to adults, and has a particular passion for supporting early childhood development and survivors of domestic violence.

Wendy believes therapy should be a safe place to be vulnerable and feel truly heard. Her goal is to help clients feel empowered as they navigate difficult emotions, relationship challenges, and life changes—always with care and cultural sensitivity.

If you're curious about beginning therapy, Wendy invites you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to talk about your goals and see if it feels like a good match.
